Original Music-James Morrison, Video-Chris Beauchamp, Production-Chris McIntyre

In May 2016, the James Morrison Band performed at an event where keynote speaker, the Very Reverend Stan McKay spoke of the need for reconciliation with Canada’s First Nations people and called for forgiveness. McKay, a member of the Fisher River Cree Nation in Manitoba spoke with such conviction and eloquence, James Morrison was inspired to begin writing “Fall From Grace” that same day. The resulting song has been interpreted in various ways: a call for coming together in troubled times, a lament for things lost, a love song, a cry for environmental stewardship. Whatever your interpretation, “Fall From Grace” is a moving and evocative tribute to McKay’s words of wisdom on that day in May.
